RISK/REWARD

My spontaneous porcelain vessels are born from a process that is both exacting and unpredictable. The porcelain is slowly conditioned over several days, then poured onto plaster where it finds its own edges through movement and evaporation. At the moment of perfect pliability, I lift the sheet and quickly drop it over a base form— a gesture that captures breath, gravity, and timing in a single instant.

No corrections are made; the form must remain as it lands. Subtle asymmetries, soft collapses, and suspended curves become the signature of that moment. Once dry, the interior is glazed for depth while the exterior stays matte, preserving every nuance of touch. Supported carefully through firing, the vessel settles into its final shape as extreme heat exerts its own influence.

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between artist and material — a vessel shaped by discipline, chance, and the beauty of the unexpected.
